Week 10

 Week 10:

Okay everyone this week was awesome!! 

Today we went to Viña for our pday! We saw the beach and ate toqueyoyo and helado! Viña is super pretty but also super busy! 

Also our washer flooded haha 
Also this week was 18 de septiembre! So everyone had the week off of work and every one was barbecuing in their houses and there was music everywhere. But its funny cuz all the streets were empty. Everyone was either in there houses or our of town. So it made missionary work a little bit more difficult but we still had a lot of success! God always finds a way for his work to move forward! But we had lunch with a less active family it was so fun! We flew kites, learned how to throw the trompo, and they have a toy that is traditional in Chile that is basically a simpler version of a kendama and everyone was so impressed that I could do it haha. 

But also this week so many miracles! I don't have much time to write so I'll have to make it quick

Miracles #1 
We were out trying to find a less active member which is when most miracles happen because you have to talk to literally everyone to try and find the house that belongs to the address.  Anyways we're were talking to literally everyone and we met Sergio. He's an older man who lives by himself, loves learning, reading, and has a lot of questions like why are there so many churches if there is one God and one truth. So literally Hna Durkin and I are SO excited to share the restoration with him. But there's a catch, he LOVES to talk. So everything Hns. Durkin tries to say something he immediately interrupts and never let's us complete a sentence. This goes on for about 40 minutes. And i begin to start crying. Bawling. Like literally I am in the middle of a random street in Chile talking to this chilean man and I'm weeping because literally the people that have all the answers he wants is literally right in front of him, and he won't let us talk. And i felt the spirit so stongly literally burning in my heart. And when I started weeping he said, "oh look she misses her family". And I said no that is not why I am crying!! And my companion explained it's because I know of the truth of our message. Anyways he continues to not let my comp talk, and at this point i can feel this burning sensation of the spirit take over basically my whole body and these words form in my head and i could feel my body being pushed forward as if the spirit was nudging me to speak. so I said to him while still crying "Sergio. You have a question. And you want the answer right? We have the answer and I do not have the words to say it, but my companion does and she can say it so please listen to her."  I said it super direct, super clear, without hesitation. (This NEVER happens for me especially while i am crying) And after that same thing, he wouldn't let us speak. He just kept talking about like psychology and other random stuff. And after 15 more minutes of that, I felt an increase of the burning sensation, more words formed in my head and I felt the same pushing sensation and I said to him in the middle of his sentence, "disculpe (excuse me) we have the answer you need if you would just give my companion 3 minutes to speak, thank you".  And after that my companion recited the first vision and during this I felt this tingling sensation throughout my entire body. Guys I know that the Holy Ghost can communicate to us in individual and personal ways and in powerful ways too, but I have never experienced anything like this before. It was very tender and very sweet. 

Miracle #2 
On Friday we were walking out of our apartment and this lady stopped us and said, "I want to talk to you guys. I live in apartment ### and my door us always open." She lives literally in our apartment complex. So we knocked on her door that night and she let us in and we got to know her better and share a quick message about the book of Mormon.  Then we invited her to church and guys she came! This is the first time that we found someone in the street and they came to church. She is so sweet! And a lady named Jessica gave the sweetest rawest testimony of her conversion story and the gospel. Her husband passed away 2 year after she was baptized and Mar's (our friend at church) husband also passed away. It was a super beautiful sacrament meeting.

 This week we had a zone conference and it was truly amazing. I realized that people want and need this Gospel. If they can understand what it means to be baptized, there won´t be a single person who wouldn´t want to be baptized. It just depends if they can truly understand the doctrine. Understand that when we are baptized, the door to return back to Godś presence opens. The only way to start to access Godś power is through baptism. If the people can understand that the first step to living with their families for the eternities is by being baptized, they wouldn't have to fear it.  This week we got to put this into practice. We taught our friend Absalon about the importance of baptism and how his eternal progression relies on being baptized by someone that has the authority of God. Week 53

  This week was super eye opening. I learned so much about all aspects of life. First of all on Tuesday we left with Sister Trythall, the mission president’s wife. And it was so fun to see our area from a different perspective and to hear her testimony and feel her spirit. This week I felt super grateful for every little thing I’ve lived through. I’m super grateful for this time I have to be super focused in changing myself and helping others to change.  I also had some opportunities to have deep conversations this week with a few different people. The first one I had was with my companion. We talked about how sometimes we feel like we don’t feel the spirit as strongly or as drastic of a difference and the truth is that we are so connected spiritually that I realized it's normal. It's normal that people in the street feel the spirit strongly and they share the hard things they’ve gone through or what they’re going through right now after talking to them for 3 minutes. Week 73

  My last week in Chile! The best week ever! This week I just soaked up everything! Every lesson, every street contact. especially Sunday. It was a super sweet and spiritual Sunday! I got to give my last testimony and wow it was hard for me, but I just felt so much love looking at all the people I love and have served with for so long. I am sad to leave but excited for the next part of my life!  Some highlights from this week! Ignacio got baptized and confirmed! The baptismal meeting was so spiritual and Ignacio shared his testimony at the end and he started crying! Afterward he said that the spirit was so strong during the whole entire baptismal service and it all exceeded his expectations! That is a lot coming from him because he is a very intelligent, calculated person, so the fact that the spirit was stronger and hit him harder than he thought was really special!
