Week 11

 Week 11:

This week was AMAZING

We had a conference of all of the Hermanas in the mission! It was super awesome experience. We listened to speakers, ate food, painted, and all the Hermana's that are leaving this transfer shared their testimony. But they had these little frames and paper to paint and right a quote from the scriptures or a conference talk. And I have no artistic abilities, so I asked President Trythall to write 2nd Nephi 22:2 for me. And to sign it haha. I love it so much. But it was a really beautiful conference. One thing I took away from this conference is that I can strive to have joy everyday through my attitude, having more obedience, and more Jesus.

We had interviews with President Trythall on Wednesday in Villa Alemana. So between pday and conference of the Hermana's and interviews, we took the Metro 3 times this week. Kinda fun haha. But interviews were awesome! I told president I wanted to only talk in Spanish hehe. Because that is how I am going to learn faster. But it was really awesome I could say everything I wanted to say in Spanish yayyyy!

Ok also something else that happened on this same day. Super duper funny and also super not funny. So someone came and looked at our washing machine because it doesn't work properly and we had a giant stack of boxes next to the washing machine. I don't know why its there but I believe its been there for months even years cuz its massive. But this guy sends us an audio message and he says like, "ok i think I fixed everything with your washer. But bad news, the mountain of boxes next to the washing machine fell and there was one that had milk in it and now there is spoiled milk everywhere. And I tried to clean it up, but I had to leave. I'm so sorry but the smell is horrible." My companion and I are dying laughing and also so distraught at the same time. Because the image of the boxes falling and this poor guy confused of what to do and rotten milk everywhere. But also it is our apartment and the nasty mess is going to be there when we get home. So when we got home we had to clean it up. It was nasty and there was his footprints everywhere in the rotten milk. Soooo grossss. But something good always comes out of bad situations. I found some empty large like 2 liter bottles and I filled them up with water and I use them to work out hehe. So I am super happy about that!

Miracle of this week!
We were out walking by the plaza (tons of people) and we staring talking to this lady named Maria. She is a single mom and has one son. And so I start talking to this 11 year old boy named Maximiliano while my companion is talking to his mom. He literally reminds me of Mckay, just Chilean version. But he was so fun to talked to and we had about a 45 minute conversation where we talked about so many things and I ended up teaching him the entire plan of salvation! By myself! I Spanish! With energy and a personality!!! These things are huge for me!!! Anyways this little kid has so much potential and it is so sad that they don´t live in our sector but we are going to refer them to the other missionaries!

On Friday I thought I was having an appendicitis . I had extreme pain in my upper right side of my stomach. Which is one reason I knew that it wasn't is because it was up high in my stomach. But it was crazy painful, I couldn't speak or hardly walk, the only thing I could focus on was the knife in my stomach. The pain was literally so bad. But I toughed through 2 lessons and then we went back to the apartment 45 minutes earlier than the rules. But I had relief when I layed down so that is good. And like 3 hours after I was just fine haha. Probably something the members fed me. And during one of the lessons that I had to tough out,  was the most interesting lesson. I was in pain, not able to contribute, my companion is crying pouring her heart out to this lady, and this lady is rejecting us because she doesn't feel accepted and doesn't want our help. It was a really interesting i guess out of body experience. Super sad for our friend Mar. But we are going to send her general conference talks everyday this week and invite her to listen to conference this weekend! So prayers for Mar!!

A few random things happened this week
- we were talking to a group of kids and one of them gave me a drawing of a strawberry. My heart literally melted
- we met this guy named Jason who literally had 3 experiences where he was close to death and God saved his life. And he is a man of a lot of faith and he said that "I am always looking for God in my life and how i can get closer to him". Literally he is going to get baptized but he lives in a different city so were going to refer him to the other missionaries. we gave this guy a book of Mormon and he was selling socks so he gave us each a pair of socks.
- I literally fell in a ditch. I don't know what happened but one second I was in the dirt. It was so funny!! I only have a little scuff on my knee but we were dying laughing when it happened.
- A dog peed on my foot. Yep. We were knocking on a door (or "alo"-ing) and i'm like what is this sensation happening to my foot and i look down and there is literally a dog with its leg up peeing on my foot. WHAT like first of all how did I not see this dog, because normally I am like always aware of where the dogs are because I do not want them near me. But apparently I did not see this dog. But also why did this dog feel the need to mark me as its territory. ohhhhhh my I was so mad. And then for the rest of the day all the stray dogs were trying to sniff my foot and I had to defend off swarms of like 5 dogs. Anyways I can't even process that that happened. Crazy. Like literally a dog, walked up to me, lifted its leg, and peed, ON MY FOOT. Ok I'm done now.

But this week I am really grateful for a prophet who lives! That we literally have the mouthpiece of God and we get to listen to him and other inspired men speak! I invite each of you to try and study one talk a day this week to prepare for general conference!

God loves you! Have a great week!!
