Week 12

 Week 12

General Conference!!!! Yayyy!!

I hope that everyone had just an amazing time listening to conference! I'm excited to go back and study them in Engilsh hehe. It is so special to listen to the words of the Lord through the prophet and apostles!

Miracles of the week:

We were out walking in Los Laureles, an area that is very far (an hour walking) and all countryside to teach someone we met earlier, but instead we found this old 80 year old man named Moíses (Moses). His family is very catholic but he hasn't really participated much in his life, but he LOVES to read. So we taught him the Restoration and gave him a Book of Mormon. He was super grateful and he said he will read it cover to cover! We are going to go back and visit him this week. And we are super excited because if he really reads it cover to cover it, he will gain a testimony of its truthfulness!! So prayers for Moses!

We were walking around yesterday inviting everyone to listen to general conference and we walked past this old man sitting on his porch with his phone held up to his ear. And my amazing companion had the thought that he was listening to general conference so my companion asked him what he was listening to and he said, "I don't know some kind of conference or something". GUYS literally he was already listening to general conference! And in the same moment, a ward member shows us and bares his testimony that he was just baptized a year ago and that the church is true! It was such a cool experience!! We are going to go back and talk to this old guy!

Javiera was baptized yesterday! She is a friend of the Elders in our ward! So happy for her and her decision to make her first covenant with God! Our friend David came and watched which was so special! Prayers for David that he can gain a testimony of the Priesthood and the Book of Mormon! He is progressing very slowly but needs prayers.

We had a lesson with a recent convert, Bruno, and I felt and realized how important prayer is. We are literally communicating to an all knowing God who knows us, loves us, and created us, AND wants us to return back to him. He loves us so much that he made it possible for us not only to return back to him, but to become like him. I think there was a quote in conference that said something along the lines of, God loves us and wants to give us everything he has, but his love is even more than that he wants us to become as he is. His love isn't a "I'm going to give you gifts" kind of love. Its a kind of love where he gives us opportunities to learn, grow, and eventually become the kind of person he is. Guys God is so good! He knows exactly what he is doing and his way will guarantee success. All we have to do is trust him and follow him! I'm so grateful to be here to bring people to Christ!

Have a great week everyone!! God loves you!!
