Week 14

 Week 14:

Week of Miracles!

First miracle was with our friend Xiomara. We had a lesson with her and Javiera. Javiera was baptized about 2 weeks ago and her story is incredible. She shared her experiences in life that were very similar to what Xiomara is going through right now. Javiera also shared her conversion story. The spirit was so strong, all 4 of us were crying. Javiera is literally one of the strongest persons I have met. She has had things happen in her life like abuse, abandonment, self harm, depression, suicidal thoughts, being without food, money, or a home. But she shared the power and light that jesus christ brought into her life. And when she was baptized she felt that her infinitely heavy backpack was lifted off her back. And that she feels clean and pure, does not have the desire to sin anymore, and has been happier than ever. Then Javiera asked Xiomara if she wants to get baptized and she said yes!! This to me was a huge testimony builder of the power of the atonement and the reality of priesthood power. That we literally have the authority to use the same power that created this world and created us. And through this authority we can enter into sacred covenants that allow us to experience joy. Real tangible joy that can change us forever.

We had zone conference and I loved what the focus was! It was all about faith. But not just faith that God will make things happen, but faith that my intentional actions to actually study hard and talk to people will help God's miracles happen. And that we can expect Miracles only if we are doing literally ALL That we can. And why do we do all that we can? Because we love Him.

On Sunday we had 2 friends promise that they were going to come to church: Xiomara and Jorge. But about an hour before church started Jorge sent us a text saying that he can't come because his son was having some issues and his heart and soul was very very heavy. But we still went and knocked on his door and my companion told him that we were going to church without him. So we gave him 5 minutes to get dressed and we walked to church with Jorge, Xiomara, and a recent convert Louis. It was one of the best moments of my life walking on the side of the road with everyone to church!

I'm so blessed to be a missionary and be apart of the work of the Lord! But I know it wouldn't be possible without all the spiritual giants that came before me. I am so grateful for them! Especially for Joseph Smith and the early Saints! Because of his desire to really find the truth, we now have it and have it in abundance!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week! And remember that God loves you no matter what!
