Week 15

 Week 15:

This week we had 3 friends come to church!! Woohooo! Xiomara, Carlos, and Jorge. We all walked together to church! Best feeling ever!! Xiomara and Carlos are dating and Xiomara is ready to be baptized but we are going to start teaching Carlos so he can realize why Xiomara is trying to take this important step in her life!We had exchanges this week and I stayed in Limache and had Hermana Christian as my companion. This day was the fastest day of my life! We talked to so many people and when there wasn’t people to talk to we were talking to each other so it flew by! A member gave me a crochet Care Bear! That made my day because I used to have the same stuffed animal as a kid!



But we had a lesson with Jorge and a recent convert Ernesto where I invited Jorge to be baptized, and he said that he wants to but he wants to do it when he is 100% sure. Sad and happy but I know that he will keep reading the Book of Mormon, going to church, and praying. And with these things he will for sure become 100% confident one day. 

We met someone in the street named Elias. He told us about an experience he had a few years ago. He was in the sauna and he felt his heart beat slow down and on one of the heartbeats he felt his spirit leave his body and his spirit was floating, ascending upward. He said he felt overwhelmingly peaceful and he saw his family in the heavens all dressed in black and crying. Then it hit him that he was literally dying, and he knew that it was not his time to go and his spirit returned back to his body and when he woke up there was a bunch of medics putting ice all around his body. And now he was talking to us, asking us the significance of this dream. We obviously aren’t dream interpreters, but we did teach him about the plan of salvation and gave him a book of Mormon! He lives in a different area, so we gave his information to other sisters! But what a cool story!! Not everyone gets opportunities to experience things like this, but that doesn’t take away from the reality of the plan of salvation! I know that God has a perfect plan for each of us and we can all return to our maker if we do our part. 

I know this email is shorter than normal but don’t worry I still had an awesome week! Every day the spirit testifies to me that the things we are teaching are true that we do have a living prophet, and this church really is true, and the Book of Mormon contains the words of God. Thank you for your support!

 This week we had a zone conference and it was truly amazing. I realized that people want and need this Gospel. If they can understand what it means to be baptized, there won´t be a single person who wouldn´t want to be baptized. It just depends if they can truly understand the doctrine. Understand that when we are baptized, the door to return back to Godś presence opens. The only way to start to access Godś power is through baptism. If the people can understand that the first step to living with their families for the eternities is by being baptized, they wouldn't have to fear it.  This week we got to put this into practice. We taught our friend Absalon about the importance of baptism and how his eternal progression relies on being baptized by someone that has the authority of God. Week 53

  This week was super eye opening. I learned so much about all aspects of life. First of all on Tuesday we left with Sister Trythall, the mission president’s wife. And it was so fun to see our area from a different perspective and to hear her testimony and feel her spirit. This week I felt super grateful for every little thing I’ve lived through. I’m super grateful for this time I have to be super focused in changing myself and helping others to change.  I also had some opportunities to have deep conversations this week with a few different people. The first one I had was with my companion. We talked about how sometimes we feel like we don’t feel the spirit as strongly or as drastic of a difference and the truth is that we are so connected spiritually that I realized it's normal. It's normal that people in the street feel the spirit strongly and they share the hard things they’ve gone through or what they’re going through right now after talking to them for 3 minutes. Week 73

  My last week in Chile! The best week ever! This week I just soaked up everything! Every lesson, every street contact. especially Sunday. It was a super sweet and spiritual Sunday! I got to give my last testimony and wow it was hard for me, but I just felt so much love looking at all the people I love and have served with for so long. I am sad to leave but excited for the next part of my life!  Some highlights from this week! Ignacio got baptized and confirmed! The baptismal meeting was so spiritual and Ignacio shared his testimony at the end and he started crying! Afterward he said that the spirit was so strong during the whole entire baptismal service and it all exceeded his expectations! That is a lot coming from him because he is a very intelligent, calculated person, so the fact that the spirit was stronger and hit him harder than he thought was really special!
