Week 22
Another awesome week!
This week we visited Moises! I don´t know if you guys remember him from like 3 months ago, but when we met him he said he was going to read the whole entire book of mormon from start to finish! And we haven´t seen him in about 3 months. But right when we got off the Micro (public transportation bus) we saw him outside of his house! We talked with him for a while and he said he wants to work towards baptism! Its a little difficult because he lives like 1.5 hours away walking and doesn't have a phone. But he said he would come to church on Sunday! And when Sunday came, a member told us that he came and was looking for us because he wanted to tell us that he couldn’t assist this week, but he is going to next week! Which was a miracle for us because he’s 80 years old and we were surprised that he remembered!! But we are super excited to keep working with him this week and help him make his first covenant with God!
Right after this interaction, we went and talked with one of our friends Luis. He told us how he has been distant from God lately but wants to develop a closer relationship with God! Literally God is just putting people in our path. It is amazing! And we had a family night at a members house where an Elder made doughnuts and Luis came! It was a super awesome experience!
This ward understands missionary work and we have received a ton of references! So we’ve been busy trying to get to know them and their needs. We’ve got to know some families that have heard about the church and want to know more, or assist the church!
This week we did service digging holes out in the middle of nowhere. But it was the most fun I’ve ever had! I honestly miss working hard, like physically. Because yes we walk all day and I exercise in the mornings, but I miss big heavy duty stuff like shoveling. So I was super duper excited for this service project. And when we got there I just started working so hard until I got like 5 blisters on my hands. Ouch. But it was so worth it!! I had a lot of fun! We also sang to some grandmas and grandpas in an old folks home with our entire district! It was so fun to talk to all these old people! I just love them so much!! And I love Christmas time because we get to sing Christmas songs!! During exchanges this week there was an earthquake of 6.3! It was a crazy feeling. I felt the ground shaking at first and then I looked up at my companion and all the cars around us were shaking and the power lines were all shaking. And it lasted for quite a while too!! It was a little scary but also kind of fun!
This week I really felt like I am enjoying my mission! Yes I am working as hard as I can, but I am also enjoying it at the same time! And with Christmas right around the corner I just have a love for everything. For life, the gospel, my family, my companion, my friends, Chile, and literally everything. I am so grateful for prayers where we can talk with our Heavenly Father. I am so grateful for a loving Savior who knows me and loves me and provided a way to return back to our Father. I am so grateful for the Plan of Salvation that gives us comfort and a end goal to work towards. I am so grateful for this time to be a missionary and be the hands of God and witness his miracles!
I love you!
God loves you!
Merry Christmas!
