Week 32

 Placilla!

My first week being a trainer! And I already love it!
My new companion, Hermana Pereira, is from Paraguay and she is literally the best ever! She is so selfless and always thinking about others! She is an awesome example to me! I love being with someone new because their excitement about missionary work reminds me how special it is to be a missionary. She is literally so amazing. We are already best friends! We love cooking together, exercising, playing card games at night, and just talking and laughing. She is just a ball of love and positive energy. One night we had to come home early because she had like 8 or 9 blisters on her feet and she didn't want to come back to the apartment, but we were literally walking so slow cuz it hurt so bad so I convinced her that she needed to rest. She is a super hard worker. I'm super excited to get to know more about the culture of Paraguay and try a bunch of their foods and to strengthen our relationship every day!

More about the work here in Placilla. This week has taught me a lot about patience. I won't go into too much of the details, but it was hard for me to be ok with a slow start. I'm the kind of person that likes to get it in and start working hard right away. But that's not really possible in this situation. But I have learned a ton, and this next week is already gonna be a super good week because we are getting to know more people, more ward members, and meeting more people in the streets. We met a friend that the Elders were teaching named Isaias and he really wants to get baptized, he just wants to get baptized in May. So we are gonna try to help him realize that he doesn’t need to wait! Here there are a lot of members that have stopped coming to church, so were gonna work really hard to help them remember why they were baptized in the first place and why going to church is so important. Basically I am just super excited to keep working because I can see so much potential in our area! Its a little crazy because our area was an area with Elders in it, so 2 of the 3 zones are pretty dangerous and we shouldn’t be walking in the streets after like 6 or 7 in the afternoon. So its been an adjustment planning the day around that. But its so pretty here! So many hills and forests! I’m super excited to wake up everyday and know that my day is going to be filled with helping people and inviting people to experience the love of God and Jesus. I invite you guys to try to think more about Jesus every day. Really we have this life because Jesus gave his. And when we think about him, we do the things he would do, and we become his disciples! I love being His disciple!

Have a great week! God loves you!!
