This week I felt like the focus was on the Holy Ghost. We set goals as a district to better recognize the Spirit. And this week I was able to see the influence of the Spirit so much more often! In almost every lesson I felt the Holy Ghost was confirming the things that I was teaching. And in my studies I tried to study more about the Holy Ghost too. I felt that this week I was more connected to the people we were teaching and the people we met. I felt like I could better listen to them and put myself in their shoes. And then that made it so much more powerful when we testified of gospel truths. This week we worked a lot in the Tomas. Its a place where people just take the land and build a house. There's a lot of people from Haiti there and they are all super nice and really interested in learning more. And I know that the gospel is just going to bless their lives so much!

Going with the topic of the Holy Ghost I listened to a talk this week, and I highly recommend it to everyone. It's called “Is it the Holy Ghost or Me” by David A. Bednar. Basically what he said to answer the question is “Quit worrying about it”. And I love it because if we are keeping our covenants, trying our hardest to choose the right, and acting, actually having the confidence and faith that God will help us, that is when he will start guiding our steps. We have to think incramentally, line upon line progress in thinking what Christ would think and doing what he would do. I love how direct Elder Bednar is! We really have to trust that God is guiding our steps as long as we are the ones that are stepping.
We also had stake conference and it was awesome! It was so cool to see so many members in the same room! The mission president and his wife came and spoke and it was awesome! I love listening to our mission president and his wife talk, they are definitely inspired by God because they always say exactly what I need to hear!
This week I met someone named Teresa. She's a cute mom and wife and has a lot of interest in listening to us. Immediately when she told me her name I thought of my grandma Teresa. And I got to share with her the story of my grandma and I got to testify that really our families can be together forever if we follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ and make covenants with our Heavenly Father. It was an awesome experience for me. I am so grateful for my family and my ancestors. Because thanks to them I am here experiencing things that I will never forget, learning what it means to be a daughter and son of God, and helping others realize their potential. Now its our turn to serve our ancestors and do temple work!

I like to think about what life will be like once Jesus comes again. What will our daily routine be like? What will be our purpose everyday? I bet our only worries will be worries related to the gospel. Temple work. So why do we have to wait until Jesus comes to change the focus of our lives. Our focus should already be on the gospel of Jesus Christ. And that is exactly what the prophet has been urging us to do since he became the prophet. I love to think that the prophet literally is the closest person on earth to Christ. And he is perfectly aligned with His will. And we have the pleasure to not only listen to the prophet, but act on his invitations! In the last general conference he invited us to rededicate our lives to Jesus. He said the following,
“My dear brothers and sisters, in a coming day, Jesus Christ will return to the earth as the millennial Messiah. So today I call upon you to rededicate your lives to Jesus Christ. I call upon you to help gather scattered Israel and to prepare the world for the Second Coming of the Lord. I call upon you to talk of Christ, testify of Christ, have faith in Christ, and rejoice in Christ! Come unto Christ and “offer your whole [soul]” to Him. This is the secret to a life of joy! The best is yet to come, my dear brothers and sisters, because the Savior is coming again! The best is yet to come because the Lord is hastening His work. The best is yet to come as we fully turn our hearts and our lives to Jesus Christ.”
I want to add my testimony to the prophet’s. I know that Jesus will come again to the earth in all his glory and majesty. And now is the time to prepare. Now is the time to work, serve, invite, and love. And as we try our best to follow him, he will just shower blessings on you and your life will be full of joy.
I love you and God loves you!
