Week 41

 Easter!!!

This week God gave me the best day ever. God just filled it with love. It was Tuesday, the 15th. First of all, that day I hit 9 months. We had exchanges so I was with Hermana Escalier from Bolivia! She just got here a few weeks ago, so she is super excited to talk to everyone! In a lesson with one of our friends Karina, her mother in law let us pick walnuts from her tree! And the sunset was beautiful! And I felt like that day we really walked with the spirit and angles. Everyone wanted to talk to us and I learned that day how to be just super happy. I just felt like that day was super boosted with the spirit. And to make that day even better, I had a crazy powerful personal study in Mormon chapter 9. Moroni is urging us to ask God without doubting anything and believing 100 percent. And if we ask whatever it is believing 100 percent, God will make it known unto us because God is a God of miracles. And Moroni tells us that we should “ask with a firmness unshaken, that ye will yield to no temptation, but that ye will serve the true and living God.” He urges us to strip us of all uncleanliness. God wants us to be clean and pure through Jesus’ atonement so we can meet him again. God wants for us to live with him again, we just need to do our part to stay pure, yield temptation, and serve Him with our whole heart.

We taught Eduardo this week (he was baptized a few weeks ago) and for me a little miracle happened. Eduardo is a middle aged man that lives alone, doesn’t have any friends, all his family passed away, doesn’t have kids, and never got married. Let’s just say he’s had a tough life, but he always looks to the positive side. It’s usually difficult to teach him because we can only teach him through a phone call and he studies a lot which makes it hard to teach and understand him. But when it came time for the closing prayer, he offered it and gave gratitude for his Savior Jesus and gratitude for us as missionaries and basically bore his testimony in his prayer. I felt the spirit so strongly, I just felt love, and one of the coolest parts is that he didn’t stutter at all. For me that was evidence that the gift of tongues really does exist and God blesses us when we have faith. God really is a God of miracles.

Something else that I learned this week from Mormon 9:31 is that God gives us the knowledge of our faults, weaknesses, or shortcomings so that we know how and where we can improve. It is actually a blessing that he shows us where we can improve. We should thank God for the times he’s allowed us to see when we’ve messed up because it's an opportunity to become more than what we were. That’s why it's so important to be humble so that we can realize it and let God change us for the better. And every day is a new day to set new goals to become better. Every day is a new day to prepare ourselves to meet God. If Jesus came tomorrow at 5pm what would you do the rest of today and tomorrow to get ready? Why can’t we do those things now, today? I know I have a lot to change and a lot I can improve on and I’m willing to set goals this week to actually change, actually include Jesus, and actually rely on his love and power. Who wants to do it with me?

This week teaching, studying, and reflecting on Easter has really taught me a lot. I know for a fact, without a doubt, that Jesus Christ suffered in Gethsemany for me, that he died on the cross for me, and he resurrected so that I can do the same. I am so grateful to know that Jesus Christ lives and loves me. I know that he loves you too. He is my best friend that gets me, comforts me, and knows best how to help me. I am so grateful for every new day I have to improve my relationship with Him. I love my Savior with all my heart. I know he lives and that he is my Redeemer. Through him everything is possible. Through him there is hope, love, and joy. He loves you infinitely.

I love you and God does too!
