This week was a Rollercoaster of emotions. During the week we were rejected left and right. No one wanted to listen to us and all our lessons fell through. And to be honest it was a little tough, but everyday I told myself it was a new day and we could change the trajectory of our week. But no matter what we did it didn't change. Until Sunday. On Sunday we had 4 friends come to church. One of them is Justin. It was actually a miracle when we found him. It was Thursday I think when we were leaving the dangerous section of our area and it was already getting pretty dark. And we had talked to literally everyone and they all rejected us. And at this point I told myself “ok one more person, I can talk to one more person”. And when we stopped Justin in the street, he told us that his girlfriend is a member of the church and lives in Northern Chile. Miracle!! And then he said that she was coming to town this weekend! So we ended up teaching him with his girlfriend on Saturday, and they both ended up coming to church on Sunday!
Javiera also came to church on Sunday! We found her 2 weeks ago when we were looking for a specific address. She believes a lot and trusts in Jesus' protective power and decided to listen to us and start studying and changing her life! She's had a tough life and still needs to make a few changes in her life so send prayers her way!
Another huge miracle this week is that a sister in our ward invited her son's girlfriend to come to church this Sunday and the girlfriend brought her cousin that just moved here! I'm not sure if that makes sense but basically a miracle!! All 4 friends that come to church are between 19-23 years old! It's been fun working with young adults!! We're gonna have an activity this Friday for all the Young Adults in the ward so they can get to know each other better and make friends!
After a long week of what felt like no success, Sunday felt like a big burst of happiness and joy! I got to take the Sacrament and renew the covenants I've made with God, see other friends experience the Sacrament for the first time, and just help people feel loved! I love being a missionary! Sometimes it doesn't feel real, like I'm in a dream. But it's the best dream ever! Really I don't have the words to describe the joy I feel when I get to talk and testify about Jesu and His atonement. I really love Jesus. Everything is possible thanks to Him. Sorrow is only temporary and joy is everlasting when we follow Him. I am grateful for the confidence I feel in the covenants I have made with my Heavenly Father. He will always take care of the ones that are striving. May we all strive to be faithful so that we can be lifted up at the last day.
I love you all!! And God loves you too!!
