Week 54

This week was an emotional rollercoaster. So many amazing things happened!

\We had an exchange with the sister missionaries from the office and it was so fun! They are in charge of responding to all the references from Social Media for our entire mission. And so while we were together, this kid Juan responded to a message that Hermana Guzman sent and it turns out that he lives in our area and we got to have a lesson with him that same day! It was super special for Hermana Guzman because they always receive a lot of people that want to learn, but never get to see the progress of the people. And so this day was super special because she got to know him and really he is really prepared. He said he wants to go to church every Sunday and is looking for direction in his life. So we gave him a book of Mormon and taught him about the Sacrament and the importance and symbolism of it. And on Sunday he came! He even sang the hymns and stayed for the second hour. To me this kid is evidence that people are ready and waiting to be invited we just need to invite them!

This week Yostin’s mom had a health complication and had to go to the hospital and when she came back she basically was sedated in a hospital bed in their house. She’s had a really tough health condition for 15 years, but recently she’s been going downhill. And on Tuesday it got a lot worse. We were really concerned for Yostin but he said he just wanted to be alone. Respecting his choice, we passed by everyday and left him a note with a scripture on it. And then on Saturday Brother Danilo Pinto gave him a blessing of comfort. And on Sunday morning we got a text that said his mom had passed away. It was a pretty tough Sunday thinking about how hard it is right now for this young kid. We passed by his house later that night and just talked to him about the most random things, but we really just were there to listen. It's kind of sad that he doesn’t have anyone that will just listen to him. So it was good that we were able to be a support for him, but I can’t imagine how hard it is for him right now. The good thing is that now he has a little foundation of the plan of Salvation. He knows that we are here on earth to experience hard things and he knows that after he can see his mom and family again. But if you want to add Yostin (justin) to your prayers it would be greatly appreciated.

This week I felt like I really got to practice loving more. Loving the people, loving the ward members, loving my área, my companion. I really just feel so grateful for the time I have had to be here. I've met so many people that have been examples to me of love and acceptance. I've realized on my mission that we have no reason to judge someone. That isn't what the savior would do, and actually he would do the opposite and love them. Love them for who they are, where they are and love them enough to help them progress and improve. I've realized as a disciple of Christ we should do the same. Love our family, friends, neighbors, or people we don't even know for who they are as sons and daughters of God. And love then enough to help them improve. I know that Jesus loves us so much that he wants us to become better. I hope we can see every difficulty as an opportunity to learn and grow.

Jesus loves you!!
