Week 57

This week was crazy! We took advantage of being in a trio and we did 4 exchanges! It was crazy not seeing my companions for basically the entire week, but when we were back together again I realized how much I love being with them! They are such hard workers and love to work, which I love too!

This week we got to teach Rafael, he just got baptized last week and we told him about the Priesthood and how much of a blessing it is to be able to bless the loves of people and be closer to God. We also shared with him a part from President Nelson's talk, think celestial, and when he read it we just saw in his countenance that it made sense, that he understood it. He said, ‘Wait I understood that!” It made me so happy to see him physically understand that he is a son of God with a divine potential, and that he can overcome any difficulty or challenge if he remembers that. We are so blessed to know that now we need to live the laws and commandments that let us live with our Heavenly Father. I am so grateful for a living prophet that guides us and helps us know how we can better follow Jesus. I know that Russell M Nelson is the true living prophet. That he receives revelation for the entire world. And we too can receive revelation for our own personal life. This week we taught a friend named Absalón. He told us that he already is a missionary called from God. We told him about the Apostasy and the Restoration Of the Gospel through the prophet Joseph Smith. He was really surprised and I could tell he was thinking hard about it all and he told us that when he first met the missionaries and went into the church for the first time, he said the spirit confirmed to him that it all came from God. And now we are trying to help him understand the importance of one prophet and of the Priesthood. It is crazy sometimes to think that so many people don't know and are looking for the truth. But it's not that crazy to think that the truth exists. It has to exist. It's just such a privilege to know the truth and get to share it. This week my companion showed me a video of President Eyring speaking and what he said was really impactful. He said imagine all the people that are around you, and after this life you will reunite with them and they will know that you knew the truth, and they're going to ask you, “why didn't you invite me, why didn't you share with me?” And it's a powerful question. Everyone wants to know the truth. Maybe it might be hard to accept it because we are stubborn, unwilling to change, stuck in our ways, and unopen. But in the end, our friends, colleagues, teammates, and family will thank us for sharing and inviting them. For not giving up on them. I feel like I always say something like this in my emails, but now is the time to act. Now is the time to invite. Now is the time to give others the chance to know. There are so many people waiting for your smile, your love, your friendship, your invitation. I am trying my best to invite everyone and share the gospel with everyone and it has brought me so much joy and happiness I don't know how to describe it. I have learned so much about who I am, what my role is, and who I can become through Jesus Christ. And I know that is only possible through following Jesus Christ. This life is only possible through Him. I love him and can't wait to see him again. He is waiting for you and for me to trust in him more. I know he loves you! Have a great week!
