Week 61
A wonderful week I had!
This week I got to go to the temple in Santiago! It was so special to feel the peace and love and spiritual power that you get when you go to the temple. It was special. I also saw Xiomara there which was amazing! She was the first person that I got to help to be baptized. It was so good to see her and see how her testimony has grown. She said to me, “you know how you guys always promised me that if i were to get baptized, my life would change, and I would see miracles? That is exactly what has happened. I am so happy and grateful for you guys and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.” I could physically see the light around her and see that her life had changed. Because right after she got baptized, she moved to Santiago so I didn’t get to see and participate in her growth after her baptism. But it made me so happy to see and listen to her! I know that this gospel changes lives!
We also got to help 3 new friends come to church this week and it was amazing to see them sitting, participating and learning. Sometimes being a part of the church for my whole life, it's normal going to church, but I love seeing how different it is for other people. And they can physically feel and see the difference in the Church of Jesus Christ. They can feel that the Spirit is there testifying of the truth.
I also got to do exchanges this week with my trainer and my the sister that I trained 6 months ago and it was so fun to see how much we have grown. I am so grateful for every experience that I am having because every experience helps me to grow! This week we also got transfer news and it turns out that I’m going to still be an STL but I’m also going to train a brand new missionary! I’m not sure how it's all going to work out, but I’m excited for all the new adventures that we are going to go on! I’m excited to learn a lot more and develop more Christlike attributes!
Something that I felt a lot this week is the confidence that God has in us. We were sent here right now for a reason, and we are where we are for a reason. Every action or step that we take has meaning. And we can choose to be intentional about what we do in our lives, or we can just let life pass us by. I am so grateful for a Savior that has given everything we need to not only have an intentional life, but have a meaningful life that prepares us for an eternal life. Really the way that we react matters, the words that we use matter, the way we pay attention and listen to others matters. Everything Christ did, he did with a lot of purpose. Every action was significant, every word was powerful. He gave us the perfect example of how we should live our lives. And he gave us the perfect “formula” to achieve that perfect life. And that formula is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is believing that he really is the only way we can make it back to our heavenly home. It is repenting daily to become better and aligning our will with our Father’s. It is making and keeping sacred covenants. And it is being faithful and clean for the rest of our lives. I love that every problem that we might face in this life, has a solution. And that solution is Jesus Christ. His love is perfect, his power is infinite, and his mercy is constant. Anything is possible with Him. He loves you!
