Week 67

This week we got transfer news and I'm staying with my companion, but I”m not going to be an STL anymore. It makes me a little sad, but I’m really excited to focus on our friends and our companionship! I’m so excited to work hard and just be so happy and soak up every second of these last 6 weeks!

This week a talk from General Conference really stuck out to me. It’s titled, “Lovest thou me?” And it made me realize how we all have ways we like to give and receive love. And how it's important to show love to others in the way they like to receive love. Then he talked about how God likes to receive love. And it was crazy for me to think about how I can give my love to God in the way he likes to receive it. And he talked about 4 points. The first point is to put Him first in our lives. Second is to serve other people. The third is to gratefully acknowledge every blessing we receive. And lastly choose to obey Him and obey his commandments. I really liked the last two about recognizing and being grateful for the blessings we have and choosing to be obedient. I think it's so empowering to obey willingly and joyfully instead of obeying because we know it's right. I am so grateful for the commandments and I am so grateful for all the blessings I have received from obeying all of them. I know it can be difficult to resist the temptations of the world or even from our own mind, but when we read the scriptures, pray fervently and daily, and go weekly to church, God will bless us with the power to resist every temptation. I love that God has given us guidance to keep us safe and far away from danger. I have a very strong testimony that when we humble ourselves and willingly obey with love in our hearts, heaven's windows really do open and God’s blessings come showering out. And when we mess up, Christ is always there to catch us, comfort us, and bring us back. I love Jesus Christ and his infinite love and mercy! He is always waiting for us to come back, try again, try better. He is my best friend and I love him! I hope this week we can all learn more about his sacred role in our lives this week!!
