Week 68
The biggest miracles of my mission! On Friday we said hi to a guy on the street with the intention to talk to him and he stopped and told us, “I want to get baptized”. What?? My mind literally stopped working, I didn't know how to react! But he said that he realized that he never was baptized and he wants to start to learn more about Christ and get baptized! So we got his information and it turned out he lived in Concon, another city. So we told the other sister missionaries about him! And then they called him later that night, and turns out he lives in our area! So the next day on Saturday we met up and got to know him a little bit better. And on Sunday he came to stake conference!
This stake conference was really special because it was the last stake conference that stake center will ever have. They are going to start to tear it down in December to start the construction of the Temple! It's crazy to think that for the past few months I've been going to church on Holy ground! Everyone is excited! Another miracle we saw this week was we went to have a lesson with a family that we met on the street. When we went to go knock on their door, we noticed they had a big tarot sign above their door. We were a little bit spooked and didn´t know if we should still go through with it and knock on the door, but we did it anyway. It turned out that they weren´t home, but when we were about to leave, a guy came running up to us and asked us if we had tried Tarot. He wanted to hear someone's opinion to know if it works. We told him that we were missionaries and we asked why he was looking for help. He ended up telling us a little bit about his story and that he just ended his relationship with his girlfriend and he was looking for a place to feel healing. It was literally a miracle that he came up to us. So we told him about how Jesus can help him heal better than any other “remedy”. And he told us that he would listen to the missionaries in his city! I just felt so amazed. I knew that a few days ago, we needed to talk to that family in the street so that we went to go knock on that door that day. Osvlado needed the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am in awe every day as I think about the way Heavenly Father works. I am so grateful that I have been able to participate in the most important cause on the earth for the past 15 months.
I am so grateful that in this preparatory state here on the earth I can actually progress towards my potential. I know that is only through the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. There are so many people all around us that don’t know about the restored gospel, or don’t fully understand, or aren’t currently living the fullness of it. I invite you to help them so that they can see, feel, and experiment the joyfulness and freeingness that this amazing Gospel is. I promise you that serving meaningfully is worth more than a nap, or than watching your favorite show. Meaningful conversation is worth more than a quick hello. Heartfelt prayer is worth more than 15 more minutes of sleep. Regular scripture study is worth more than scrolling on Social Media. Regular temple worship is worth more than a lot of fun entertaining activities. We were sent here to have joy. Joy comes from the things that really matter. The most important thing is our relationship with Jesus Christ. And we can strengthen our relationship daily with him through daily time sacrifices. God is just waiting for us to give our life to him. Our life with Jesus is so much better! I love Jesus! I hope that everyday we can each learn how to better give our life to Jesus! He loves you!!
